Headaches are usually caused by anxiety, tension, poor bodyposture or tight muscles in the neck. They can also be caused bybad weather, flu and PMS. Here are some ways that you can do torelieve a tension headache. If the problem persists, seekmedical help.1. If you have the habit of using the computer for a long time,take a 10-15 minutes break every hour. Close your eyes and rubthem gently for a couple of minutes.2. Using essential oils. Lavender and chamomile help to ease physical tensionwhile ginger decreases the production of pain-causing chemicals.5. Applying an ice pack to your neck, forehead or temples. Thecoldness constricts blood vessels in the head, reducing thevolume of blood flow and thereby reducing the pain.6. Drinking a cup of coffee. Caffeine helps relieve pain, and isactually found in some painkillers. However, if you are allergicto caffeine, don't try this. It will worsen your headache,obviously.7. Massage away the pain. Massage your temples in a circularmotion using your thumbs. Another effective way is to massagethe position between the thumb and the index finger. Grip thatposition between your other thumb and index finger and presslightly.
